Federal, provincial and territorial governments currently advertise their tender notices on their own procurement websites or on an electronic tendering system operated by a third party service provider. These governments are seeking ways to improve the ease with which Canadian suppliers are able to access information on public sector procurement opportunities. For this reason, provincial and territorial governments have agreed to share their tender notices with each other so that those governments that wish to do so can publish the notices of all participating governments in one internet location – i.e. on their own official procurement site – for the benefit of their suppliers.

This Tender Notice Exchange currently includes the notices of the governments of Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia as well as notices of the broader public sector that are published on the procurement websites of these governments.  Manitoba is currently arranging for its participation, the Northwest Territories envisages participating in the next fiscal year and Ontario has agreed to do so in principle. Currently, the notices of ALL participating governments can be found on each of the following official tendering sites: www.purchasingconnection.ca (Alberta); www.seao.ca (Quebec); and www.gov.ns.ca/tenders/default.asp (Nova Scotia).

Users are cautioned that MARCAN may not contain all the sites that publish tender notices for procurement opportunities within the Canadian public sector.
